A superfood for skin and body, Walnut is known as Akharot in India. Particularly indigenous to Kashmir, Walnuts have been central to Kashmiri culture. The cold-pressed oil of the Walnut Kernel is used to cook vegetables and rice traditionally in the Valley. Kashmiri Pandits offer Walnuts during Shivratri prayers; four sections of the Walnut are said to represent the four Vedas.
